Creating the key art for my Ranger design was made using a mix of 3D zbrush sculpts, pulled into a pose, and texturing/editing and generally enhancing through photoshop.
Presented alongside a silhouette and coloured 3D turnaround.
The easiest way to present a character design in my experience is usually in a basic T-pose, showing all angles and keeping it clear and open to show any potential hidden pockets of detail in the design.
Silhouettes were a nice starting point for this type of weapon, being quick and easy to iterate on.
When choosing the colour combinations for the weapon, its important to consider materials available in the setting they exist in, as well as how it may compliment the other assets, for when it all comes together!
Arrow design; when it comes to small parts/accessories on a board game character that could be made in real life as a miniature need to have warped proportions to stay visible and not break off, here you can see the process exaggerating the forms.
The brief for this character was very broad, allowing experimentation with fantasy aspects alongside real inspiration.
